    STUDYLINK AUSSIE FAIR FROM MONDAY

Do you know that biotechnology is already in our daily lives?

For example, the food that we eat. In the days of earlier generations, most people ate to live and food was bland. Now our food has been engineered to be healthier, tastier and much more pleasing to the palate.

The clothes that we wear are made from better materials which are more comfortable while providing us better protection.

Even the medicines we take are higher in quality and people are less prone to diseases.

Biotechnology utilises genetic engineering, fermentation and chemical separation technologies to develop processes of commercial importance.

Biotechnologists gain employment in pharmaceutical companies, in the food and drug industry and in research, among others.

Of late, there are students who have registered for combined double degrees of Biotechnology with Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Commerce as well as Law.

For those who have strong stomach, they can enter the world of forensic science – CSI: MALAYSIA! when they combine their degrees with Criminology and Law.

These combinations will give the graduates the power to build their own businesses with the discoveries and innovations that they make.

Studylink Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Tony Tan said: “Many students are unaware of the possibilities of enhancing their studies and how they can increase their marketability.

“But students who are good in science now have the opportunity to pursue their chosen courses without having to choose one or the other.”

With this in mind, Studylink will hold the 16th edition of the Australian Education Fair 2006.

The fair starts on Friday (Sept 22) at Armada Hotel, Petaling Jaya.

It will then be held at Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Traders Hotel Penang, Casuarina Hotel Ipoh before heading back to Sheraton Hotel Subang Jaya.

Then it will go south to Puteri Pacific Hotel Johor Bahru, Katerina Hotel Batu Pahat, Classic Hotel Muar and finally end at Century Mahkota Hotel Malacca on Sept 30.

Admission is free at all venues with university application fee waivers where applicable. For details, visit www.studylink.com.my
